Quiet craft in the
streets of Allapuram.
In 1860, a craftsman named V. Chetty opened a small jewellery workshop in Allapuram, in the heart of Vellore. He made pieces for temples, for weddings, for the everyday women of the district. He did not advertise. He did not expand. He simply made gold that was worth keeping.
One hundred and sixty-five years later, that workshop is still here. The name is the same. The address is the same. What has changed is the skill — each generation adding to it: stone-setting in the sixties, certified diamonds in the nineties, and through all of it, the same unhurried commitment to purity and craft.
